The Bar Method Fresno has selected a site for its new Clovis studio.

The popular fitness program will be located at the northeast corner of Clovis and Herndon avenues in the Clovis Crossing shopping center. It will be next to Kirkland’s.

Jennifer Hoekstra, owner of The Bar Method Fresno, said the studio has experienced strong growth in the last two years, prompting an expansion of its Fresno studio and the new Clovis location.

Construction on the 2,500-square-foot Clovis studio has begun and is expected to be completed this spring.

The Fresno studio, 6751 N. Palm Ave., near Herndon Avenue, added 1,500 square feet last year to its 2,600-square-foot space to make room for more students and child care.

The Bar Method provides a total body, low-impact workout. The exercises combine elements of ballet barre routines, dance conditioning and physical therapy to improve posture, flexibility and core strength.

“You can have a gorgeous, strong, youthful body at 20 years old or 75 years old and continue this exercise,” Hoekstra said. “It is not a fad. It is safe and it works. You will leave the studio with peace of mind and a stronger body.”
