Word on the Street: Wells Fargo expands, renovates branch in central Fresno Smart & Final store
Wells Fargo has expanded and revamped its central Fresno branch in the new Smart & Final grocery store at Blackstone and Clinton avenues.
The bank has had a small office in the retail building for more than 15 years, said spokeswoman Yahaira Garcia-Perea. It remained open in the transition between Save Mart closing at the end of June and Smart & Final opening in September. Customers accessed the bank through an exterior door
“Wells Fargo is committed to our community and the residents who live and work in and around the Blackstone and Clinton area,” Garcia-Perea said.
Bank customers now have to enter the store to get to the bank. Twelve employees work in the branch, which has five teller windows, up from four, and larger bankers offices. There are also two ATMs that dispense cash in $100, $20, $5, and $1 denominations.
The branch offers all traditional banking services, which include opening checking and savings accounts, deposits and withdrawals. The bank is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and is closed Sundays.
