Fresno Convention Center job fair is Wednesday
SMG is holding a job fair Wednesday to fill a range of jobs at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center, which the company manages under a contract with the city of Fresno. The event is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the convention center’s New Exhibit Hall, 848 M St.
The jobs for which SMG is recruiting include event staff, parking attendants, box office ticket sellers and utility workers, for which the pay range is $10 to $12 per hour depending on experience; and maintenance technicians, who earn $13 to $15 per hour depending on experience. All of the jobs are part-time and do not include benefits, said Hannah Gilbert, SMG’s marketing manager.
“A lot of these positions we’re always hiring, but now we’re entering our busy season and we need all the help we can get,” Gilbert said. The jobs involve positions at all four Fresno Convention Center venues: Selland Arena, Saroyan Theatre, Valdez Hall and the New Exhibit Hall.
Free parking for the job fair will be in the Convention Center parking lot at the corner of Ventura and O streets, behind Valdez Hall.
