The OfficeMax at Shaw and West avenues is going out of business on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The going-out-of-business sale has already started, with most items discounted 40 percent to 70 percent. Most of the big-ticket purchases – computers, printers and office furniture – are gone.
But plenty of school and office supplies were left, including pens, binders, backpacks and classroom bulletin board supplies. The shelving and other fixtures are for sale, too.
The store’s closure is part of plans by Office Depot, which bought OfficeMax in 2013, to close 400 stores nationwide. The retailer has already closed 265 stores and more are coming, though a representative declined to give details about future closures in the area.

The Office Depot on West Shaw Avenue in Clovis closed last year for the same reasons, just two years after moving into the majorly remodeled space.
