Achievements

▪ Keith Swinger and Latishia Sharer, a Fresno Wells Fargo home mortgage team, earned the top 10 percent award in the nation for July 2015.

▪ In data just released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, HealthCare California achieved an Acute Care Hospitalization rate of 9.5 percent for July compared to a state rate of 19.5 percent and a national rate of 24.4 percent.

▪ Valley Business Bank received a 5-Star Superior rating from Bauer Financial. The rating puts the bank in an elite category as one of the strongest banks in the nation, excelling in such areas as capital, loan quality and profitability. Valley Business Bank has earned Bauer’s recommended rating (5-Star or 4-Star) for the most recent 51 consecutive quarters.

Donations

▪ Anthem Blue Cross awarded $5,000 to Community Food Bank to help families in need and support their mobile neighborhood market food distribution during Hunger Action MonthTM.

▪ Fresno-based National Hmong American Farmers received $105,847 from an $8.8 million U.S. Department of Agriculture program. The fund supported 54 programs that provide training, outreach and technical assistance for socially disadvantaged, tribal and veteran farmers and ranchers.

New Faces

▪ Dr. Gerald Rogado is now caring for patients at Adventist Health/Community Care – Lemoore. He has a medical degree from Ross University in the Caribbean. Residency training at Loma Linda University brought him home to Hanford, where he has spent the last three years as a family practice residency physician.

▪ Dr. Harjind Sidhu is a new dentist at Adventist Health/Community Care – Hanford Dental. He practiced dentistry in India for two years after receiving his bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, College of Dental Surgery in Mangalore, India. He then moved to the United States to earn his doctorate in dental surgery from the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry.

▪ Dr. Kimberly Tangen is a licensed clinical psychologist now with Adventist Health/Community Care – Riverdale and Reedley Jefferson. She majored in Spanish and psychology at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minn. She earned her master’s in psychology and organizational behavior and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. She sought a cross-cultural emphasis after living in Mexico City and in Bogota, Colombia.

▪ M.D. Manouel Insurance has added three to its team. Darla Ferriera is a workers compensation account manager and has a strong background and experience with agribusiness, commercial and workers compensation accounts. Tammie Pederson is a benefits account manager, a title she has held for seven years. Jen Crimmins is a customer service agent and holds a CISR designation and is licensed in both property and casualty and life and health.

▪ Bonnie Allen joined the property management department at James Hendricks and Associates Inc.

▪ Kerry Hedrick joined Union Bank as a vice president and business client adviser for the business banking group. She will be based in Fresno and is responsible for developing and managing new client relationships throughout the Central Valley.

▪ Sean Wilson has been hired as BMW Fresno’s new general manager. He brings more than 23 years of experience in the luxury vehicle industry and business management in Fresno.

▪ Dr. Christopher Verioti, a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon is now caring for patients in the Central Valley as part of Adventist Health Physicians Network in Hanford. He completed his fellowship at Atlanta Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.

▪ Adventist Health/Community Care is teaming up with Valley Children’s Medical Group to bring five maternal-fetal medicine specialists to Hanford. Drs. Beni Adeniji, Cheryl Albuquerque, Sanmaan Basraon, Elizabeth Platz and Robert Karl Sigman joined Adventist Health/Community Care – Healthy Beginnings and will support physicians caring for obstetrics patients. They specialize in high-risk pregnancies, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and prenatal health.
