Be strong, coffee addicts: Starbucks at Herndon and Palm closed temporarily

Associated Press file

A Starbucks on a busy northwest Fresno corner is closed temporarily for renovation, the Seattle-based company said.

Fresno coffee lovers have wondered why the lights are out at the shop on the corner of Herndon and Palm avenues, just west of Fresno Lexus. The store at 790 W. Palmdon Drive closed Sept. 14 and will reopen Sept. 23 with new interior furnishings, a Starbucks spokeswoman said.

In the meantime, customers wanting a venti caramel macchiato or a grande caffé latte can head to the nearest Starbucks at Fig Garden Village on Palm and Shaw avenues or pick between three locations at River Park.

Coffee also is available at local joints like 1920 Tea Coffee Dessert, a mile south, and Le Parisien Cafe, a mile and a half north.
