Achievements
▪ Brian Traverso of Roush Investment Group became one of the first 50 advisers in the nation to receive the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) accreditation.
Announcements
▪ Dr. W. Keith Carson, board-certified and fellowship-trained diagnostic radiologist, is now a partner with CMI Radiology Group.
▪ Inez de Ocio of Visalia was appointed to the California State Rehabilitation Council by Gov. Jerry Brown. De Ocio, 35, has been senior vocational rehabilitation counselor at the California Department of Rehabilitation since 2012. She got her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from Fresno State.
Awards
▪ Fresno First Bank was awarded The Great Game of Business All-Star Achievement Award at the 23rd annual Gathering of Games Conference. The bank is the first financial organization to earn this honor. This award recognizes the achievements of companies from around the globe that have embraced the principles of open-book management and have demonstrated outstanding results.
New Faces
Michael R. Hays joined the sales department at James Hendricks and Associates Inc.
Amanda Franklin is the new environmental safety officer for Saint Agnes Medical Center. She got her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California at San Diego. She will manage and oversee hospital safety programs in compliance with laws and regulations to maintain a safe and hazard-free environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Dr. Linne Curtis-Bayt, board-certified pediatrician, is now caring for patients at Adventist Health/Community Care-Oakhurst. She attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, then returned home to complete residency training at the University of California San Francisco in Fresno.
Dr. Carlos Rangel is now practicing obstetrics and gynecology at Adventist Health/Community Care clinics in Riverdale and in the Home Garden neighborhood southeast of Hanford. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed residency training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance.
Amy Wu is now editor of the Parlier Post, the Fresno County weekly published by Mid Valley Publishing. She has spent 22 years as a journalist and editor in the newspaper and magazine business.
Denise Gruzensky, a family nurse practitioner with 16 years of experience, joined Adventist Health Physicians Network and is caring for patients at Lacey Medical Plaza in Hanford. She earned her master’s and completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program at UC San Diego.
Promotions
Jim Blanks has been named headmaster at Carden School of Fresno. He was the athletic director the past five years at the school.
