Word on the Street: Bar Method Fresno adding Clovis location

The Bar Method Fresno is expanding, again.

The fast-growing exercise studio plans to open a second location in Clovis by mid-2016.

Jennifer Hoekstra, owner of The Bar Method Fresno, said that while she is still looking for a location, the demand for classes prompted the expansion.

“We are one of the top performing studios in the nation and there is a need in Clovis,” Hoekstra said. “We are bursting at the seams in Fresno.”

The Fresno studio, 6751 N. Palm Ave., near Herndon Avenue, had to add 1,500 square feet last summer to its 2,600-square-foot space to make room for more students and child care.

Bar Method has become popular because it provides a total body workout that is low-impact and fun. The exercises combine elements of ballet barre routines, dance conditioning and physical therapy to improve posture, flexibility and core strength.
