You Can Lease a Volvo XC40 This April for Less Than $400 Per Month
The 2026 Volvo XC40 in a Nutshell
The XC40 is Volvo's entry into the luxury subcompact crossover market, and it's the Swedish automaker's second-best-selling model in its current lineup. While the XC60 accounts for a good chunk of Volvo's sales worldwide, the XC40 is doing its fair share of work, too.
Right now, the XC40 has only one generation, introduced in late 2017 for the 2018 model year. It's no spring chicken by any means, but a facelift in 2023 has kept things fresh and up to date. For 2026, there are a few updates, including a value trim.
2026 Volvo XC40 Lease Deals For April
There's good news here as Volvo has two lease deals for the XC40 that are within reach for most. It's for both B4 Core Dark (front-wheel drive) and B5 Core Dark (all-wheel drive) models. For the B4 Core Dark, it's $399 for 36 months with $4,797 due at signing. It's also $399 per month for the B5 Core Dark, but due at signing price is higher at $6,089.
For further savings, a $500 lease loyalty bonus is also available for those qualified. These offers are effectively carried over from last month, but they are deals, nonetheless. Mileage is restricted to 10,000 per year and it's $0.25 for every exceeding mile. These offers are valid until April 30, 2026.
2024 Volvo XC40 Highlights
The 2026 Volvo XC40 is offered in three trim levels, priced from $41,295 to $52,645. The three trims consist of Core (base), Plus (mid), and Ultra (top), with Dark exterior and interior packages available. In terms of standard equipment, you can expect a whole lot of safety features, including advanced driver-assist systems that include oncoming lane mitigation. Also bundled in are Google built-in, wireless charging, Volvo's latest infotainment software, and a power tailgate.
The B4 front-wheel drive is back for 2026, hence the lower starting price. Adaptive Cruise Control and front park assist are now standard on all trims starting this model year. The Plus model adds heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic roof, an air purifier, and an advanced ambient lighting system. Ultra versions add Pilot Assist, which gives it semi-autonomous driving capabilities, along with a larger set of wheels, special interior touches, and more.
Both come with 2.0-liter mild-hybrid turbo engines. However, models badged B4 come with 197 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque, while the B5 gets more grunt with 247 hp and 258 lb-ft, plus standard all-wheel drive.
Final Thoughts
The trump card of the Volvo XC40 is its value proposition. Compared to the German competition, it's much more attainable with a lower price of entry, but it already comes well-equipped right out the door. This month's lease deal reflects that, but just because it's cheaper, it doesn't mean it'll leave you shortchanged. If anything, it's one of the better subcompact luxury crossovers out there, and only badge snobs will ignore it.
