Visalia/Tulare program for young entrepreneurs accepting applications
Students in grades 6 to 12 can now apply for a 30-week class at the Tulare/Visalia Young Entrepreneurs Academy program.
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy teaches middle and high school students how to start and run a business. Students develop ideas for a business, research markets, create business plans and pitch them to a panel of investors for startup funds, and launch their own companies.
Classes meet on Tuesdays at College of the Sequoias from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., from October to May.
Applications are available at www.visaliachamber.org/YEA or www.tularechamber.org and are accepted until Sept. 15. Student scholarships are available based on need and merit.
