The California Department of Food and Agriculture has two vacancies on the Rendering Industry Advisory Board.

The board makes recommendations to the department’s secretary on matters that relate to the meat, poultry and egg safety rendering program. This includes noticing changes in bylaws, general procedures and orders, the rate and collection of license fees and penalties, the acquisition and use of equipment, and anything pertaining to Food and Agricultural Code Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 5.

The term of service is 36 months; applicants must be a licensed renderer, collection center or registered transporter of inedible kitchen grease. Those interested should send a brief resume by Aug. 24 to California Department of Food and Agriculture, Meat, Poultry and Egg Safety Branch, 1220 N St., Sacramento, California 95814, addressed to the attention of Doug Hepper.

More information is at www.cdfa.ca.gov/ahfss/mpes/index.html.
