Announcements

▪ Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed Jeff Burdick to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors; Denise Hansen and Kelley Medeiros of Hanford to the 24th District Agricultural Association, Kings Fair Board of Directors.

▪ Mystique Medical Spa has earned Diamond status from Allergan, the makers of Botox Cosmetic, JuvedermXC, VolumaXC and Latisse, making it the only single location facility in the Central Valley to earn the designation.

▪ Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group Inc. has placed in the Top 10 for the 2015 “Best Firms to Work For,” in the structural division, by The Zweig Group. Cornerstone offers full-service structural engineering design services to public agencies, developers, architects and other professional clients on building, bridge and infrastructure projects.

▪ Paul Wieda of Boston Partners Financial Group LLC was inducted into the Signator Investors Inc. Hall of Fame. He has been in the financial business for more than 40 years. To be inducted, financial representatives must have proven their commitment to providing exceptional client service throughout their careers and must have earned the company’s Achieving Client Excellence award at least 15 times.

▪ CNBC has recognized Fresno-based Regency Investment Advisors on its list of Top 100 Fee-Only Wealth Management Firms in the United States. Established in 1993, Regency’s sole business is to provide focused fee-only investment advice and financial planning consultation to clients.

▪ Farmers Insurance announced that Jason Cuaderno of Clovis and Karlos Perez of Fresno were named Championship agents for their outstanding achievement and customer-focused efforts by the Los Angeles-based multiline insurer.

▪ Civil Engineering News ranked Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group seventh among the “Best Civil Engineering Firms to Work For” nationwide in 2015.

▪ The Rotary Club of Fresno Foundation has announced its 2015-16 board members: They are Hal H. Bolen II, president; Duane Oswald, president-elect; Shirley Bruegman, vice chair; Melissa White, secretary and Richard “Dick” Herrinton, treasurer. Second-year directors named: DeWitt Senter, Brandi Orth, Layla Forstedt, John Richers and Emil Milevoj. First-year directors named: James Bushman, Ryan Jacobson, Mike Hamzy, Lisa Woolf and Diane Carbray.

Awards

▪ Ken Dias received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the California Agricultural Teacher’s Association. He has been in agricultural education in Clovis for 32 years. The award is given to a member of the agricultural education profession who has demonstrated the highest level of professional performance and involvement in their program and community.

Donations

▪ The Rotary Club of Fresno has awarded $4,645 to Valley Preparatory Academy Charter School for a shuttle bus for transporting students to school and for use for field trips, $4,030.95 to Valley Center for the Blind for office equipment and furniture, $2,500 to Stone Soup Fresno for converting a parking lot to a playground for the Early Childhood Development Center, and $2,500 to Light-House Recovery Program Inc. for playground equipment for the after-school program and computers on site for adult GED study program.

New Faces

▪ Raquel Ruiz joined California Medical Imaging Associates as a radiology technologist. She has certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians in X-Ray and CT and holds certificates in mammography, venipuncture and fluoroscopy.

▪ Realty Concepts hired the following associates in residential sales: JoAnn Loforti, Lisa Heavner in the Fresno office and Bryan Pokorny, Sheila Contrestano, Lyndsi Dufresne, Jadrien Rimorin and Brent Lake in the Clovis office.

▪ Central Valley Community Bank added Raymond Alaniz as senior vice president, senior credit officer to the credit administration department. He has 13 years of portfolio management, financial analysis and underwriting experience.

▪ CalCom Solar hired Andrew Hoffman as senior director, strategy and market development and Rob Burkholder as director of financial planning and analysis. Hoffman was manager of Demand Response at Pacific Gas & Electric Co., and Burkholder was commercial finance manager at GE and SPG Solar.

▪ Dr. Tegest Hailu joined Hinds Hospice as medical director.

▪ Liz Long joined Golden State YMCA as chief executive officer and director. She has served YMCA programs in Modesto, Montana, Minnesota and Idaho over the last 35 years. Her focus will be overseeing all aspects of the five camps at Lake Sequoia.

▪ Mark Matsumoto was named dean of the School of Engineering at the University of California at Merced. He is currently associate dean for research and graduate education in the Bourns College of Engineering at UC Riverside, where he also serves as a professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering.

▪ Joshua Trammell joined Family HealthCare Network at Hanford Health Center as a dentist. He completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health and also holds his certificate in Public Health from A.T. Still University School of Health Sciences.

▪ Mateo Garcia joined Family HealthCare Network at Ivanhoe Health Center as a family nurse practitioner. He received his Master of Science in Nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Samuel Merritt University, and is a member of the California Association of Nurse Practitioners.

▪ Guarantee Real Estate hired the following agents to its sales staff: Ken Higginbotham, Willow/Nees office; Julie Leonard, West/Herndon office; Melissa Hergenreder, Fig Garden Village office; Cynthia Gastelum, Christopher Escobedo II and Linda Bolton, flex office; Maricela Davlin, Woodward Park office; and Stephanie Cervantes and Joe Curtis, south county offices.

Promotions

▪ Lynne P. Pietz was promoted to executive director of fund development at Hinds Hospice.
