Nearly $1 million in grants to assist Valley job seekers
The Fresno Regional Workforce Investment Board on Thursday awarded four grants totaling nearly $1 million to provide job training to veterans, individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, and people who are unemployed or underemployed.
They include:
▪ A $192,300 grant will provide training to 73 unemployed and underemployed individuals in solid-waste management, wastewater treatment and pest management.
▪ A $166,666 grant will fund training for at least 45 people with disabilities in business and professional services, education, and government.
▪ A grant of $444,444 will fund ongoing training and services for 110 veterans in building trades.
