▪ The Board of Directors of Central Valley Community Bancorp announced the addition of Karen Musson and Robert Flautt to Central Valley Community Bancorp’s and Central Valley Community Bank’s Board of Directors effective Dec. 1.

▪ Fresno City Manager Wilma Quan-Schecter and Assistant City Manager Jane Sumpter announced that Henry Fierro has been named interim budget manager in the finance department.

▪ Cultural Arts Rotary announced its annual grant awards for the year, providing five organizations with a total of $12,350. Award amounts ranged from $1,000 to $4,400. The Fresno Arts Council received $4,400 to support local youth through the galleries and history of the Old Fresno Water Tower; the Central High Wind Ensemble is performing at Carnegie Hall in March 2018, and two scholarships totaling $3,500 were provided for two young musicians to attend; Fresno EOC Sanctuary youth shelter received $2,250 to support the filling of 200 stockings for youth at the Making Spirits Bright event for families and for survivors of human trafficking; and Fresno State’s Theatre for Young Audiences received $1,200 to produce the “Wondrous Tales of Old Japan.”

▪ Macy Perry, an animal science major from Prather, has been selected as an Oklahoma State University Senior of Significance for the 2017-2018 academic year by the OSU Alumni Association.

▪ Fig Garden Rotary Club provided a grant of $3,000 to Education Burma Thailand Myanmar to rebuild a school that was damaged by a cyclone.

▪ California Water Service donated $12,500 to the Bethlehem Center and the Visalia Emergency Aid Council to help support needy families through monetary donations to local nonprofits. The organization also donated $1,500 to supply deployed National Guard Armory families with Thanksgiving dinners.

▪ James M. Ford, president and chief executive officer of Central Valley Community Bancorp, the parent company of Central Valley Community Bank, announced the partnership with Raymond James Financial, Inc. to provide investment services for Central Valley Investment Services, a division of Central Valley Community Bank.

▪ The March of Dimes, Central California Market, announced Mike Der Manouel Jr., president of DMIG, will be the 2018 chairperson for the Fresno March for Babies event.

Awards

▪ Army veteran Sam Esraelian will receive The CrisCom Company’s 2017 Leader for America award Dec. 13 in his hometown of Selma. He served in the Korean War as a U.S. Army platoon sergeant with the 2nd Infantry Division and was awarded three medals for his outstanding service. The firm established the award in 2007 recognizing extraordinary leaders who have made a tremendous impact benefiting our nation in a positive way.

▪ The National Court Reporters Association announced Lesia Mervin has earned the nationally recognized Registered Diplomate Reporter certification, the highest credential available to stenographic court reporters. Reporters with the RDR credential are recognized as highly experienced and seasoned and among the profession’s elite.

New Faces

▪ The March of Dimes, Central California Market announced Tiffany Vertiz has joined its development team as a development manager.

▪ Family HealthCare Network announced the addition of Peony Tam and Shan Gong to its provider team. Tam, an optometrist, and Gong, a dentist, will join the network’s growing provider team at its new Hanford Health Center.

▪ Family HealthCare Network announced the addition of Margaret Ng and Steven Zhong to its provider team. Ng and Zhong will offer family medicine services at the Visalia Oak Health Center.

▪ RE/MAX Gold has announced that Realtor Melinda Bradbury has joined the real estate franchise. She has more than three years of local real estate experience and specializes in first-time buyers and move-up sales.

▪ Dr. Kathleen M. Cochran has joined the EYE-Q Vision Care team as a primary eye care specialist, and has a particular interest in general optometry, contact lens fitting, and a variety of ocular diseases.

▪ Fresno State alumna Patti Waid joined Fresno State as the new director of University Communications. She most recently served as executive director of public affairs at California State University, Chico and previously as assistant vice chancellor for university communications at the University of California, Merced for four years.

New Locations

▪ United Health Centers broke ground on a 53,000-square-foot administrative headquarters building that will replace its current administrative space of 17,000 square feet in Parlier. The new facility at 3875 W. Beechwood Ave. in Fresno will provide an extra 36,000 square feet of space to accommodate the organization’s growth and will accommodate about 150 employees when complete in late 2018.

▪ Smart & Final opened a new Extra! store Nov. 29 at 1419 W. Olive Ave. in Porterville, three times the size of the older location.
