Kuppa Joy Coffee House has opened its first drive-thru coffee kiosk at the southwest corner of Herndon and Cedar avenues.

They call it the Joy Thru and it launched Monday. Located next to Bad Bud’s, the Joy Thru has two drive-up windows and has a similar menu as its two popular brick and mortar cafes in Fresno and Clovis.

Zack Follett, founder of Kuppa Joy, said he really likes the drive-thru concept and saw a niche in the market for a quick and convenient way to get good coffee from a local company. He is also thinking about opening more drive-thru locations.

“This is so much easier to operate,” Follett said. “And once we learn how it all works, we will be able to design our own concept and drop them all over the Valley.”

Locally owned and operated coffee kiosks may become a growing trend in the Fresno area. A local couple recently opened Kodiak Mountain Coffee at Barstow Avenue and First Street.

During its soft opening week, the Joy Thru will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Fans of the coffee house have reacted favorably to the opening of Joy Thru with more than 2,000 comments on its Facebook page.
