Smart & Final Extra! cuts ribbon Tuesday for new NE Fresno store

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held noon Tuesday to celebrate the opening of a new Smart & Final Extra! store in northeast Fresno.

The 29,000-square-foot store will open in a former Vons grocery store at 7733 N. First St. near Nees Avenue. The store will cater to business customers and families with an expanded frozen, deli & meat selections, full produce section including organics, a self-serve dry bulk goods section and oven-roasted chicken.

To celebrate the grand opening and to show its commitment to the community, Smart & Final will make two $2,500 donations to Break the Barriers and Kastner Middle School. The store’s normal hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
