California Raisin Day at the Fresno State farm market

California Raisin Day will be celebrated Friday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fresno State’s Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market.

Visitors can sample raisin varieties grown on campus and receive 10 percent off raisin purchases. The Dancing Raisin will be on site for photo opportunities.

The event is a collaboration between the California Raisin Marketing Board and the Gibson Farm Market to raise awareness about the naturally sweet, sun-dried California raisins that provide nearly half the world’s supply.

“The Gibson Farm Market loves the chance to partner with industry and educate the local community about a leading California agriculture product,” said Joseph Rodrigues, interim Gibson Farm Market manager.
