A Canadian-based fertilizer company has opened its newest U.S. facility in Biola, a few miles west of Fresno.

The plant, at 4460 N. Biola Ave., will make and distribute NutriAg’s line of fertilizer products for conventional and organic farmers. NutriAg purchased the building three years ago and completely renovated it, before opening in early November.

The facility is being completed in phases and will employ between 20 and 50 people when done.

Martin Bloomberg, NutriAg Group president, said the Biola location puts the company closer to U.S., Central American and South American clients.

NutriAg operates two manufacturing plants in Canada and two in the U.S. – the other is in Carson City, Nevada.

NutriAg products are used by farmers and others to improve crop yield and quality of fruits, vegetables, orchards, vineyards, turf and tropical plants.
