Planet Fitness has a way to keep teenagers busy during the summer break.

Starting May 15, Planet Fitness is hosting the ‘Teen Summer Challenge Scholarship Sweepstakes” for 15- to 18-year-olds.

It is the first time the nationwide fitness club is offering a chance for teenagers to stay active and also win scholarship money.

“It is really a great opportunity for teenagers,” said Luis Martinez, an assistant manager at Planet Fitness at 3756 N. Blackstone Ave. “I’m really looking forward and it’s amazing. I hope every teenager takes advantage of it.”

To enter: Teenagers have to visit any Planet Fitness location with their parents or legal guardian and sign up. Once signed up, teens have to work out at the location they signed up at.

There are three Fresno locations, one in Clovis and more throughout the central San Joaquin Valley.

The free offer ends Sept. 1.

In addition, 51 teens will be randomly selected to receive a $500 scholarship, and one will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship.

Planet Fitness has 1,700 locations nationwide and has 12.5 million members.
