Fresno Hobby Lobby to open in August
Hobby Lobby will open its Fresno store in August, the craft and home decor retailer confirmed Tuesday.
The store is under construction on Blackstone Avenue, between Herndon and Sierra avenues on the site of the former Fashion Furniture Outlet Showroom. The retailer had originally hoped to open during the first three months of the year, then in June.
Hobby Lobby did not give an exact date for its August opening.
It will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sundays because the owner believes that Sundays should be reserved for church and time with family.
The 53,000-square-foot store is the 33rd store in California and the 700th location nationwide.
The store will create 35 to 50 jobs, paying between $10.23 per hours for part timers and $15.35 for full-time workers.
“The success of our stores in California is a good indicator that Fresno shoppers will be pleased with the quality, selection and value we offer in the craft and home decor market,” John Schumacher, assistant vice president of advertising said in a news release. “New customers and customers already familiar with the Hobby Lobby shopping experience are greatly anticipating this store opening.”
