Hobby Lobby store under construction in Fresno, opening delayed
Sit tight, Hobby Lobby fans, the new Fresno store is coming – it’s just running a little behind.
The craft and home decor store is under construction and is one of the most anticipated new stores to come to Fresno in recent years. The store is being built on the site of the former Fashion Furniture Outlet Showroom and another building, which were torn down, on Blackstone Avenue north of Sierra Avenue.
The retailer originally said it would open during the first three months of 2016.
Obviously, that didn’t happen.
Now, a representative of the company says Hobby Lobby hopes to open in June. The process is taking longer than expected, noted communications coordinator Bob Miller.
Several of the store’s walls are up, pulled into place by a giant crane.
