It’s National Pizza Day. What’s your favorite?

A top trending topic on Twitter today: #NationalPizzaDay.

Yep, a totally made up day for pizza makers to market their pies and for the rest of us to have a legitimate excuse to eat pizza (not that an excuse is needed, of course).

At least one place in the area is offering a slice of free pizza today: Pilot Flying J truck stop in Madera. You have to get the coupon here to get it. They claim their pizza is “unexpectedly awesome” but we’ll leave the culinary review of truck stop pizza to you (though I’ve heard 7-Eleven’s pizza is surprisingly good).

Anyway, setting serious journalism aside and in the name of cheesy good fun, we thought it would be entertaining to ask you, Fresno Bee readers: Who makes your favorite pizza? Is it locally based Me-n-Ed’s? National giant Pizza Hut? Or one of those newbie custom pizza chains popping up all over the Valley?
