River Park is getting in on the Korean restaurant trend with the announcement of a new spot in the works: Jesse Boy.
It’s a Korean-inspired fried chicken and cauliflower restaurant that is planning to open across from BarrelHouse Brewing Co., between Claire’s and the Kids Empire indoor playground.
A grand opening is planned for this fall.
The owners also run Yogurtland a few doors down in the main outdoor portion of River Park outside the theater.
What is Jesse Boy?
The restaurant is named after chef Jesse, who grew up eating his mom’s Korean fried chicken.
He used her recipes to launch a stand at farmers markets in Los Angeles. That led to a location in Hollywood.
Soon, a Fresno location will serve Korean fried chicken as wings or chicken tenders. It will also offer Korean fried cauliflower, a vegan option prepared in its own dedicated fryer.
The food can be served as a plate, bowl or sandwich, with sides such as jasmine rice, french fries or sesame salad.
Aguas frescas, the popular Mexican drinks made with fruit, are also on the menu.
