Got a Starbucks and Target habit? You can get both without leaving your car in Fresno

Starbucks and a Target run.

The pairing is the subject of so many internet memes, usually connected to harried moms just wanting a few minutes of peace away from the household to shop for wine and diapers while sipping on a cold brew coffee from one of Starbucks’ in-store locations.

Soon, you won’t even have to shower to get the pairing. Or get out of the car.

Target stores in Fresno and Clovis are taking it one step further by letting customers add a Starbucks order to their Target drive-up order.

Drive-up is when people order items at Target via the app, and pick them up at a designated parking spot without setting foot in the store.

By October, all Target stores that have a Starbucks inside will give customers the option to add a Starbucks food or drink item from the menu during a drive-up order.

The drink doesn’t sit around. When customers get a notification that their drive-up order is ready, they click the “I’m on my way” button and get a prompt to add a Starbucks order, paying through the app.

When they pull into the parking lot, a Target employee will deliver their Target purchase and the Starbucks drink.

Starbucks, of course, is using the opportunity to push its recently released pumpkin spice latte.

But this being Fresno, with 90s forecast all week, you might want to opt for one of the other three most popular menu items people are ordering with drive-up purchases: an iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso, a birthday cake pop and an iced caramel macchiato.
