After three decades in business, the Fresno location of Oak & Sofa Liquidators is closing.

The store is at 5641 N. Blackstone Ave., just south of Bullard Avenue, next door to Aaron’s, the rent-to-own store.

In a Facebook post, the store says it must sell off all its $2 million inventory. It has not released a closing date.

The other Oak & Sofa Liquidators locations in the Valley — Visalia, Hanford and Bakersfield — will remain open.

The store is typically closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but will reopen Thursday through Sunday.

No one was available Wednesday to comment specifically why this location is closing.

But the furniture industry is facing some challenges, including cash-strapped shoppers hit hard by inflation, and increased competition from consumers shopping online.
