Fresno State sweet corn is coming. Here are all the details about how and when to buy it

Fresno State sweet corn season officially starts Monday.

The Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market will start selling its famous corn at 8 a.m. May 30.

The kickoff is an event that usually attracts hundreds of people in long lines for the popular corn grown by students on 60 acres on campus.

Both yellow and white corn will be available.

Shoppers can buy three ears for $2 inside the market, which also features other student-made products.

Two mobile stations will be set up outside on the north side of the store. They will sell pre-bagged corn at $8.50 for 10 ears.

Wine, ice cream, meats

The market is on Chestnut Avenue, between Barstow and Shaw avenues.

Other products made by students will also be available that day, including apricots, cucumbers, grapefruit, green beans, nectarines, oranges, peaches and squash.

Peppers and tomatoes are slated to arrive in June and grapes in July.

Also on Monday, several student-made wines will be discounted. That includes 2018 vintages of malbec, petite verdot, Sargent zinfandel and pinot noir Russian River wines.

Two new ice cream flavors — coconut pineapple and cake batter — are also new this year, available in cones, pint and 1.5-quart sizes.

Details: The Market is at 5368 N. Chestnut Ave. Hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. 559-278-4511.
