Christmas meal planning feeling a little overwhelming?

There’s nothing wrong with not cooking it all yourself and buying a holiday meal instead.

Fresno restaurants, grocery stores, and others are selling takeout meals that are fully cooked and have all the favorite holiday foods. All you have to do is pick them up and reheat them.

Some restaurants are selling meals meant for Christmas Eve this year too.

Meals range from food for two to big meals that feed 12.

Make sure you check the deadlines to order the meals. They’re coming up fast, and some are likely to sell out.

Here’s a sample of who’s doing what, including locally-owned restaurants, chains, and other businesses.

Takeout Christmas/holiday meals

BenSmoking BBQ is a local husband-and-wife catering team selling barbecue takeout meals for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The full meal costs $100 and includes a rack of pork roast serving eight, along with sides like mac ‘n cheese and green beans with bacon.

Or, build your own holiday meal with brisket, tri-tip, pork spare ribs, or pulled chicken by the pound, along with sides.

BooBoo Bean Bakery & Cafe at Bullard and West avenues has several options for meals, brunch, even breakfast burritos for Christmas morning. Note the deadline to order is Friday, Dec. 17.

You can find the full menu on its Facebook post. Options include a holiday feast with turkey, ham, or a combination of both. One meal serves four to six people for $135, another eight to ten people for $195.

Individual sides can also be purchased. Pies are also on the menu.

BooBoo Bean also sells brunch packages, including a box full of pastries, or quiche, breakfast burritos, and more.

Meals range from half a honey-glazed ham dinner serving four to six people for $109.99 to a prime rib meal for 12 for $209.99.

You can also buy just the meat – turkey, ham, or prime rib – or individual sides and pies.

The Lincoln Pub & Grub in the Tower District and its associated catering company are offering two Christmas meals feeding six people. The glazed ham meal costs $85, and the prime rib meal costs $150.

Both come with green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and peach cobbler. Order online or call 559-230-2433.

Marie Callender’s sells seven types of holiday meals featuring prime rib, turkey, ham, or both.

The full menu is on the website, but meals range from $149.99 serving four to six people to one serving six to eight people for $224.99.

The restaurant (which reopened its Shaw and Cedar location in Fresno) also sells just the turkey or the ham. You can also buy individual sides, and of course, pies.

Grocery stores

Several supermarkets sell Christmas meals that can be taken home and reheated. Some offer individual sides too.

Some, (like many of the meals at Whole Foods) are already sold out, so order quickly. Most can be ordered online.

Grocery stores offering holiday meals include Sprouts, Whole Foods, Save Mart, and locally owned The Market at West and Herndon avenues. Save Mart’s options are unusual in that they are much lower-priced than most holiday meals.

Christmas Eve

The Mad Duck Craft Brewery is selling a Christmas Eve prime rib dinner for two.

For $80, you get two 12-ounce cuts of prime rib, baked potatoes, green beans, salad, and dinner rolls. You can also add bread pudding or a batch of cocktails like Old Fashioneds or apple-spiced Moscow mules.

Max’s Bistro & Bar is selling a Christmas Eve meal featuring slow-roasted prime rib.

The meal serving four costs $280 and also includes a strawberry-spinach salad, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables, dinner rolls, and milk chocolate toffee bread pudding.

The individual prime rib package costs $72.
