The newest Dutch Bros Coffee in Fresno is open. And it’s working to help first responders

Dutch Bros Coffee opened its latest Fresno location this week – drive-thru only, of course.

The popular coffee shop is in a newly constructed shopping center at Brawley and Herndon avenues in northwest Fresno.

It’s one of the few Dutch Bros in town that has an indoor section with seating, but that is closed for now because of COVID-19. The walk-up window is closed, too.

Dutch Bros – they say “bros,” not “brothers” – typically donates its profits to a charity when it opens a new store.

The new location is doing that, along with all its locations during the month of April. Now through Thursday, profits will be donated to First Responders First, which provides supplies like gloves, masks and gowns to front-line health care workers.

For now, the new Brawley location is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

The coffee shop has stopped dealing with cash. It is only accepting credit, debit or gift cards, which customers swipe themselves.

Last month, the chain announced it’s boosting pay for its “broistas” (their term for baristas who make the coffee) by $3 an hour, calling it “thank you pay.”
