The Cowboy Chicken restaurant in Fig Garden Village is hiring.

For job hunters, it’s a chance to apply. For the rest of us, that means the restaurant is getting closer to opening.

The Dallas-based chicken-centric fast-casual cafe plans to open its third California restaurant here. The company has not shared an opening date but said in a news release it plans to open “this summer.”

The restaurant is known for its wood-fired rotisserie chicken. The chicken, which is hormone free, comes with sides like baked mac ‘n’ cheese and “Twice Baked Potaters.” The restaurant also bakes seasonal fruit cobblers.

The Fresno Bee first reported Cowboy Chicken was coming to Fresno in May of last year. The restaurant had its sign up, though wrapped in plastic. Since then, construction has been underway inside the space, next to Paper Source.

Hiring and training employees is one of the last steps before a restaurant opens.

Job seekers can find information about jobs and how to apply at CowboyChicken.com. Its online application mentions both management and hourly positions, like kitchen staff, customer service and delivery driver. It does not list any pay rates.
