Majumdar is the author of “Eat My Globe” and has appeared on the “Iron Chef America,” “The Next Iron Chef,” “The Best Thing I Ever Ate,” “Cutthroat Kitchen,” “Extreme Chef” and “Beat Bobby Flay.” Majumdar also appeared as an expert commentator on National Geographic’s series “EAT: The Story of Food.”
Majumdar, who visited Fresno last year in September, will help kickoff a new culinary contest during the public portion of the expo – the largest regional food trade show of its kind.

Expo organizers are asking central San Joaquin Valley restaurants to create an appetizer using at least two products from the food or beverage producers at the expo.
There will be winners in five categories – three of which will be judged by Simon. Awards will be given in Best Integration of Expo Products, Best Food & Drink Pairing, Most Creative, Valley’s Voice and The Buzz.
Restaurateurs from the eight-county Central California region that are interested in the contest can download the application and participation requirements at: http://www.fresnofoodexpo.com/registration/public-tickets. Applications are due no later than June 3, 2016.
