From local coffee to discount Denny’s Grand Slams, there’s some food news to catch up on this week in the Fresno area.
First, you can buy Lanna Coffee in single-serve “KUPS,” the little pods of coffee designed to be used in coffee machines such as Keurig.
Fresno-based Lanna already sells beans and ground coffee on a subscription basis at several locations around town. It debuted the pods in late December.
They cost $20 for a 24-pod box and can be purchased at Fresno Ag Hardware, Enzo’s Table at Willow and Shepherd avenues in Clovis, and at The Hip Joint, a little cafe inside Sierra Pacific Orthopedics at 1630 E. Herndon Ave.
You can also pick them up at Lanna Coffee’s new headquarters at 617 Broadway St. or have them mailed, including as a regular subscription.

Discount Grand Slams and other dishes will be available when Denny’s at 1746 W. Shaw Ave. celebrates its remodel on Monday, Feb. 22.
The Denny’s, near West Avenue, is the latest to get the chain’s newest look, including new booths, chairs, tables, flooring, landscaping and new paint and a mural.
From 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., diners can get the Denny’s Original Grand Slam – two pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips and sausage links – for $2.99. The Super Bird turkey, bacon and Swiss cheese sandwich will cost $3.99 and the Country Fried Steak Dinner will be $5.99 during those hours.
Prizes will also be given away during the celebration.
