Drop Box Bakery sells monthly soup, bread, etc.
You know how people subscribe to a monthly box of vegetables from local farmers? Well, now you can subscribe to a monthly meal of soup, bread and dessert from local cooks.
Drop Box Bakery is a Fresno-based once-a-month service where customers pick up their box of food on the fourth Saturday of the month.
The menu is posted online http://www.oohdelolli.com/ each month under the Drop Box Bakery tab.
If Ooh De Lolli sounds familiar, it’s because that’s the business run by Donna Mott, who also sells her popsicles from a cart around town and used to run a cafe of the same name selling baked goods at Gazebo Gardens.
She has partnered with several other bakers, including Patty Cappelluti of Patty Bakes.
The February menu starts with Greek lemon chicken rice soup – which comes frozen – and two mushroom leek scones that feed two people for $20.
The deadline is Feb. 23 for Feb. 27 pickup.
Add an 8-inch bananas Foster pie to the meal and the price is $35. Other optional “add-ons” include granola and Clementine vanilla bean quick bread from Cappelutti.
Customers can order just one meal, or get 6- or 12-month subscriptions.
“We’re going to get additional bakers as we grow and we might become more frequent depending upon the response,” Mott says.
Order online or by calling 559-246-4841 (forms can be emailed or mailed to customers). Customers pick up the food at the Fresno Art Hub 2024 N. Van Ness Blvd. at the corner of Weldon Avenue.
