Sheetz Is Giving Away a Ton of Free 'Top-Selling' Bakery Items Nationwide - Here's How to Claim Yours
Sheetz is celebrating National Donut Day this year in a big way: by giving away a ton of, well, doughnuts. The beloved convenience chain, with over 830 locations nationwide, announced the "sweet surprise" on Thursday, June 4, sharing an offer that customers won't want to miss out on.
"To celebrate National Donut Day tomorrow, Sheetz will offer customers one free donut with any food or beverage purchase of $5 or more," a press release shared directly with Parade noted. Despite the celebratory event falling on June 5, the promotion isn't for one day only, as they've extended it past the normal cutoff time to last from June 5 to 9, 2026.
The promotion can be redeemed by adding it under the OFFERZ tab on the Sheetz app, at every location. There is a catch, however: it's only valid while the donuts are available and is limited to one per customer. So if you're hoping to grab a free donut, be sure to visit a location early in the day while the bakery cabinet is still full! Each donut is handcrafted and baked fresh-never frozen. The limited-time deal is open to any flavored donut across the brand's portfolio, including:
- Peanut Butter Filled - Handcrafted layers of buttery, sweet dough topped with chocolate icing, and stuffed with creamy peanut butter filling
- Chocolate Iced Custard Filled - Handcrafted layers of buttery, sweet dough topped with chocolate icing, and stuffed with a custard filling
- Cherry Fritter - Handcrafted with sweet cherries, fried and glazed with sweet sugar syrup
- Blueberry Cake - A classic blueberry flavored cake donut loaded with blueberries
- Chocolate Cake Donut- This old-fashioned chocolate cake donut has a crisp outside and soft cake center
- Vanilla Iced Sprinkle Ring Donut - A classic ring glazed donut dipped in vanilla icing topped with colorful sprinkles
- Chocolate Iced Ring Donut - A classic ring glazed donut dipped in chocolate icing
- Glazed Ring Donut - A classic golden ring glazed donut
Sheetz's top-selling donut flavor is Chocolate Iced Custard Filled, followed by Peanut Butter Filled and seasonal Fritters.
As Parade reported, "National Donut Day began in 1938 in Chicago as a tribute to The Salvation Army women nicknamed 'Doughnut Lassies.' These women supported American troops on the front lines during World War I by serving up fresh donuts that offered a comforting taste of home."
In honor of the occasion, "The Salvation Army will distribute donuts to veterans in several cities across the U.S. and have other events, including the National Donut Day World Donut Eating Championship, scheduled to be held in Washington, DC," according to USA Today.
