Guacamole cheese exists? Yes, but you can’t find it in California

Cinco de Mayo is days away and that means it’s time to make celebration plans.

It is also time to break out your guacamole and dip your chips into it. Or how about dipping your chips in nacho cheese?

Or how about this for a new concept? Guacamole cheese.

Yes, it’s true. On Wednesday, Dutch cheese company, Daily Dairy, debuted the new Amanti Guacamole Cheese at all locations of The Fresh Market - a North Carolina-based grocery chain.

Here is the bad news: there are no Fresh Market stores on the West Coast.

Fresh Market lists 161 locations in 22 states, and the closest state to California to sell the new brand is in Oklahoma.

Maybe one of these days Fresh Market will return to the West Coast. The Fresh Market had stores in the Sacramento area, as well as Palo Alto, Laguna Hills and Santa Barbara before closing in 2014-2015.

But for now, all you can imagine is what it’s like to taste the Amanti Guacamole Cheese that is made of avocado, lime juice, chili, tomato, garlic and onion. Or maybe you won’t imagine.

And for those folks on the East Coast, it will cost them $24.99 per pound.
