Fulton Street a new draw for restaurants? This one says yes and is on the way
A Downtown Fresno restaurant specializing in tri-tip is moving closer to the newly renovated Fulton Street.
Just The Tip has closed its restaurant at 1950 Divisadero near Fresno Community Regional Center and is reopening at 2017 Mariposa St.
The restaurant is expected to reopen on Monday, Oct. 2, according to its Facebook page.
Just The Tip’s new home will be the space formerly occupied by Yang Cafe. It will be next door to La Cocina de Mama.
Veronic Stumpf, a real estate agent with Stumpf & Company, said Just The Tip is a welcome addition to an area that has the potential to become a hub for restaurants on or near Fulton Street.
The owner of the Payless Shoe Store building at Fulton and Mariposa is willing to subdivide the property into three different spaces for restaurants, Stumpf said.
“We will see more restaurants moving down here when the street officially reopens,” she said.
The destruction of the Fulton Mall and the reopening of Fulton Street to vehicle traffic is the centerpiece of a $20 million project that city officials hope will spur new business growth in Downtown Fresno.
The official grand opening is slated for Oct. 21.
