Jason Barnett of Barnett Meats in Oakhurst wants to be more than just a butcher shop and deli. That’s why the entrepreneur has introduced his own line of seasoned tri-tip.

Barnett introduced the tri-tip at the Fresno Food Expo on Thursday.

“We have taken the work out of preparing your tri-tip by trimming the fat and marinating it for you,” Barnett said. “Just pop it in the oven and you are ready to go.”

The packaged tri-tip is marinated in a light hickory flavor and Barnett is already planning to roll out a second flavor – tomato, basil and garlic.

And he isn’t stopping there. He is working on a line of chicken sausages that will come in 15 different flavors, including a breakfast sausage with cinnamon, apple and maple flavors.

“People are really into sausage and we think these will really do well,” Barnett said.
