Master Gardener training
Applications are being accepted from residents of Fresno County for the 2017 Master Gardener training program through Aug. 31. Residents of Madera County can apply through Sept. 30. The four-month training begins in Jan. 2017.

Republican women to meet
Fresno County & City Republican Women Federated will hold a meeting to honor the military at noon Aug. 25 at Ramada Fresno North, 324 E. Shaw Ave. Retired Lt. Col Lorenzo Rios will speak on “A Patriot’s Perspective.” Tickets cost $20 and reservations must be made by Aug. 18.
