Cats are curious creatures. If you bring something new into the home, they're gonna stalk all around it, giving it a good sniff, maybe patting it a few times with their paws-but if you bring in a whole kiddie pool, fill it with water and some motorized fish toys, your cat just might become totally obsessed!

Soapy Renee is a YouTube channel that follows one woman's life and all its silly adventures, and many of those adventures feature her two cats, Pippa and Apollo. In this clip, she brings Pippa a cute cat pool that captures the girl cat's attention for hours on end. Her brother Apollo? Not so much.

"I just got Pippa a tiny pool with a little electric fish in it, and she is mesmerized," Renee laughs, and from the looks of the video, it's true.

Pippa stares in wonder at the tiny toy fish, gently placing her paws in the water to test it and chase it around. The beautiful Ragdoll cat is so adorably lost in play. It's one of the cutest things we've ever seen.

When Renee brings Apollo over to check it out, he is far less enthusiastic, but that doesn't stop Pippa from staring into the water, chasing the fish with her eyes.

"It's been like 20 minutes, and she's still watching it," Mom laughs, and we honestly hope Pippa is still playing with her tiny fish lake to this day.

"This is the cat equivalent to Cocomelon," joked one commenter.

"Why does she look so majestic while still being the cutest kitty ever," said another.

"She's watching her shows," asserted a viewer.

Why Do Cats Like Moving Toys So Much?

While cats have no problem entertaining themselves with empty boxes and balls of string, moving toys can be particularly exciting because they trigger a cat's natural hunting instinct.

Toys that dart or flutter through the air, objects that roll about on their own and twitching or swimming toys like this mechanical fish are perfect for cats, as these jerky and slightly unpredictable movements mirror those of mice, birds or insects which cats are likely to hunt in the wild.

It's enriching for cats, both physically and mentally, to play-hunt around the house in ways that are safe for them and your furniture. It relieves anxiety and offers some light exercise as they swat, jump and pounce on their "prey," and it also helps sharpen those inherent skills while staving off boredom and providing novel experiences within the comfort of their daily environment.
