'Anna Pigeon' Is Finally Coming to TV This August on USA Network
It was back in the 90s when author Nevada Barr introduced the world to the fierce Anna Pigeon, a park ranger whose tragic past forces her into the great outdoors—and longtime fans of the series can finally celebrate the beloved books hitting the small screen. In August, Tracy Spiridakos will bring the title character to life in Anna Pigeon on USA Network. Here, everything we know about the new series.
What is ‘Anna Pigeon’ about?
After the tragic death of her husband shakes her foundation, Anna Pigeon leaves her life in the city behind in pursuit of a new path: becoming a park ranger. Throwing herself into the nature that surrounds her in America’s national parks, Anna discovers the grim secrets that lurk within the trees, sending her on a series of pursuits to unearth the crimes that have taken place. If the everyday demands of her job weren’t enough, the presence of millionaire Jeremiah Paulson only makes things worse. As Anna buries herself in her work to avoid the pain of her past, her sister worries that she’s simply running from truly facing what took place, having worked in five different national parks within the previous three years.
“I love this park,” Anna says in the trailer. “You can hide and feel safe. That’s why I came here: to find myself.”
‘Anna Pigeon’ cast
In addition to Tracy Spiridakos, known for her work on Chicago P.D., Anna Pigeon also stars Ronnie Rowe, Jr. as FBI Agent Frederick Stanton. Rowe has appeared various times over the years on the Hallmark Channel, starring in films like Inventing the Christmas Prince (2022) and Christmas With a Kiss (2023). Bringing Anna’s sister to life is Tricia Helfer, while Paulina Alexis plays Zoey Bear Child, a ranger whom Anna takes under her wing. In the menacing role of Jeremiah Paulson is Kim Coates of Sons of Anarchy fame. Cooper Levy also joins the cast as Anna’s love interest, Jesse.
“For Anna, she needs to know what the answer is and at all costs, she needs to uncover what it is, what the mystery is, even if it means she’s wrong,” Spiridakos told TV Insider. “She doesn’t need to be right. She just needs to know what happened.”
As for her conflict with Paulson, “He doesn’t respect the parks the same way that she does and have the same appreciation for all the animals and everything that’s in the parks, and that’s something that she comes up against throughout the season.”
