Fried chicken spot Angry Chickz expands to Santa Clarita and Riverside

Angry Chickz is turning up the heat across Southern California with the opening of its first locations in Santa Clarita and Riverside.

“We’ve had our eyes on both Santa Clarita and Riverside because they’re strong, growing communities with incredible local food scenes,” said David Mkhitaryan, founder and CEO of Angry Chickz.

The Santa Clarita restaurant opened June 16 and is at 19187 Golden Valley Road, while the Riverside location will open Friday, June 26 at 2712 Canyon Springs Parkway, The new spots now bring the total number of Nashville-style Angry Chickz restaurants in California to 36; the chain has 42 locations nationally.

Founded in 2018 in a 900-square-foot storefront in Hollywood, the chain’s menu is built around made-to-order fried chicken tenders, sliders, bowls and fries and customizable spice levels that range from no-heat “Country” to the brand’s notoriously spicy “Angry” level, which requires the infamous customer waiver.

Some of the top-selling items include the hot chicken sliders with slaw, pickles and fries, hot chicken tenders over a thick Texas toast and side dishes like the Mac and Cheese and coleslaw.
