Outer Banks Season 5 Premieres on August 20, 2026: All Episodes Available at Once!
Netflix users will soon be able to watch the fifth and final season of one of the streaming service's most popular original series. Over six years after the hit action-adventure show originally premiered, the streaming giant is finally releasing its final chapter in a matter of weeks.
When the Final Season Arrives on Netflix
On June 18, 2026, Netflix's official website announced that Outer Banks Season 5 will officially premiere on August 20, 2026. The series, which has focused on teens seeking treasure, originally debuted its first season on April 15, 2020. Most recently, the show's fourth season was split into two batches of five episodes, which debuted on October 10, 2024, and November 7, 2024, respectively. Fortunately for fans who can't wait to see how the story ends, all 10 episodes of Outer Banks' fifth season will be available to stream on the same date.
Netflix's announcement noted that Outer Banks has been a huge success that has reached the English-language global Top 10 TV ranking 25 times. Earlier, in February 2023, Variety reported that the series hit No. 1 after being watched for more than 154 million hours in just four days. Then, in October 2024, The Wrap reported that Outer Banks was topping the chart for its second week in a row at that time. Notably, having several seasons reach the chart based on subscribers' views is a feat that has eluded even many popular Netflix series over the years.
When Outer Banks' final season premieres, it seems safe to assume that it too will take Netflix's Top 10 chart by storm. After all, Netflix's preview of what fans can expect from the show's upcoming finale teases the kind of action and adventure its devoted viewers love. "The Pogues are in a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they've always been chasing. It's the Pogues against the world as they seek to avenge their best friend and bring it on home … one final time."
If that description wasn't tantalizing enough, fans can also watch the newly released trailer for Outer Banks Season 5. It teases a great deal of drama and showcases how gorgeously shot the series' last episodes clearly are going to be.
