A Polar Bear at the Oregon Zoo found the best way to stay cool as the weather starts to heat up.

In an adorable TikTok video posted by the zoo, a Polar Bear named Kallik was caught enjoying his ice bath when it got warm. In the video, Kallik dove into the ice bath and played around while he tried to keep cool. He rolled around and even lay on his back. At one point, he even got close enough to boop the camera with his nose before he continued to enjoy the bath. In the video's caption, the zoo confirmed that "Kallik is so chill."

People also loved Kallik's time in the bath, with users commenting that it's "so unfair that bears are that cute and can't be cuddled" and that it seemed like the "best ice bath ever." Another added to that sentiment and asked, "If not friend, why friend-shaped?"

One person joked that it looked like the Polar Bear was actually saying, "Hi guys, welcome back to my channel. Today, we are having an ice bath," to the camera.

All about Kallik and why Polar Bears love ice baths

According to the Oregon Zoo's website, Kallik is a three-year-old Polar Bear who arrived at the zoo back in January 2026 from the Saint Louis Zoo.

"Kallik was born Nov. 11, 2022, at the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium and moved to St. Louis in 2025 with his twin brother, Kallu," the zoo revealed. "He weighs over 700 pounds, and caregivers say he is playful and curious. They also say he's likely to get much larger as he matures."

"From around 2.5 to 5 years old, polar bears are considered ‘subadults,' so Kallik is still growing and developing," Kelly Gomez, the lead who oversees the Polar Bear exhibit at the zoo, said. "We're looking forward to introducing such a young, energetic bear to zoo visitors."

Like other Polar Bears, Kallik also loves bath time and enjoys a nice ice bath to cool off when it's warm. According to Polar Bears International, their fur, skin, paw, and claws are all adapted to withstand harsh Arctic temperatures between "-40° or -46 C."

"Polar bears have 2 layers of fur that prevent almost all heat loss," they explain. "In fact, the fur keeps them so warm that adult males can quickly overheat when they run." They also have "a thick layer of fat" that keeps heat in, especially when they're in frigid water.

Because of this, Polar Bears find ways to keep cool, such as taking ice baths, to avoid overheating.
