2 Tiny Newborn Fawns Picked the Absolute Worst Hiding Spot Possible

Newborn fawns are experts at staying hidden while their mothers are away, but these two little ones may need a bit more practice. @floatingtheozarks was driving home when he spotted two mama deer crossing the road with their fawns. The moms quickly disappeared into the brush, but the babies instinctively dropped into their natural hiding positions... in what had to be the worst spot possible.

Realizing their moms were gone, the fawns did exactly what nature programmed them to do: they lay perfectly still in the middle of the road. Knowing the tiny deer could be in danger if a car came along, the kindhearted man stepped in to help. Listen as he gently encourages them to move to safety, and ends up making an adorable new friend in the process.

As I was driving to my house two does crossed the road along with these two fawns. The does ran off the road and into the bush, but these fawns went into their natural hiding position. Unfortunately, it was in the middle of the road, so I had to try to move them, so I didn't run one over. You can hear the mother call in the background. These are definitely recent newborns. You never know what he'll come across on country roads in the Ozarks. #floatingtheozarks

This gives new meaning to sheltering in place! @floatingtheozarks shared that you could hear the mothers calling in the background, but we couldn't hear them. He then joked in the caption, "You never know what you'll come across on country roads in the Ozarks."

We're just glad he was there to help!

He hasn't shared an update, but we're hoping the mamas found their babies and that the baby deer learn it's better to hide in the brush than in the road.
