Golf Cart Carrying Injured Soccer Player Runs Over Teammate in Wild Video
No, this isn't a skit from Saturday Night Live, but it very well could be.
Absolute hilarity ensued during a recent LigaPro soccer match in Ecuador between El Nacional and Liga de Portoviejo. Liga de Portoviejo led the game, 1-0, when play came to a stoppage at the 71st minute for a medical timeout at Gonzalo Pozo Ripalda Stadium in Quito.
The video, which went viral over the weekend, shows a player from Liga Portoviejo nursing an injury as he lay on the back of the golf cart. The driver, somehow, didn't see Edison Caicedo having a conversation with someone. Caicedo wasn't exactly paying attention, but neither was the golf cart's driver, who ran right over Caicedo.
You can see in the video that Caicedo immediately goes down and lies on the field as he writhes in pain. It appears Caicedo took a nasty shot to the shin before banging his head.
The announcers couldn't believe their eyes, as staff members on the field appeared to chastise the golf cart's driver.

You can see things get pretty intense, so much so that the referee had to step in to keep everyone calm.
The announcers also chastised the golf cart driver, whom the announcers assumed didn't see where he was going.
Meanwhile, Caicedo still lay on the field in visible pain. Replays showed the accident in slow motion, and the announcers let out an audible, "Oh!"
