NBC Quietly Cancels 8 Shows, Including Comedy With 96% on Rotten Tomatoes

NBC is moving forward with a significant content overhaul heading into the 2026-27 broadcasting calendar by moving on from eight shows.

Earlier this month news broke that the network canceled medical drama Brilliant Minds, and comedy show Stumble, which received a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes from fans.

Brilliant Minds was NBC's "lowest rated drama series on linear with the steepest double-digit year-to-year declines despite having the same post-Voice Monday time slot as last season," according to Deadline.

Just a few weeks later, NBC canceled six more shows to bring the total up to eight for the year.

Eight Shows Canceled by NBC

After cancelling Brilliant Minds and Stumble, which ran for just one season, NBC moved on from several notable shows including Access Hollywood which ran for 30 years.

Here's the full list and how long each show ran for, per Cordcutters News:

  • Law & Order: Organized Crime (ended after Season 5)
  • Brilliant Minds (ended after Season 2)
  • Stumble (ended after Season 1)
  • Access Hollywood (ended after 30 years)
  • Access Daily (companion show ending with parent program)
  • The Steve Wilkos Show (ended after 19 seasons)
  • Karamo (ended after 4 seasons)
  • The Kelly Clarkson Show (ending after 7 seasons)

Clarkson's show ends nearly a year after her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, died from cancer.

"I think everybody probably gets the timing," Clarkson she revealed back in February. "Our family life, the dynamic changed a bit, and it has changed for a minute now. You got kids, we've all got kids, and it's one of those things when you kind of start seeing life as how precious it is, too. It's like, ‘You know what, I'm really busy."

NBC's lineup will look significantly different next year.
