"What I pack for my dog on a hot day," the video caption reads, as we see Milo curiously eyeing the food in his lunch box while wearing a darling baby-blue sun hat.

The meal starts with coconut rice balls, which Milo chomps down on with delight.

Next is a cucumber-and-carrot take on charcuterie, with cucumber creating the cracker and carrot shavings serving as a topping. It's crunchy and delicious, and cucumbers are also very hydrating and cooling.

Next is a cooked burger made from ground beef, wrapped in a lettuce bun, with a drizzle of sauce for extra flavor and moisture.

Yogurt that's been frozen into a hard treat and topped with a bright red strawberry slice is a bit of dessert. After all that, Milo gives a cute little burp. He just pigged out, but in the best and healthiest way.

What Are the Most Hydrating Foods for a Dog on a Hot Day?

Milo's mom really hit the mark with this bento box lunch, and we're inspired to pack similar treats for our next summer picnic. But what are the best foods for dogs on a hot day?

Watermelon is more than 90 percent water, and as long as you remove the seeds and rind, it's a wonderful snack for a dog to munch. Serving frozen adds even more cooling benefits as a crunchy snack.

Those cucumbers were a stellar choice, working just like a watermelon thanks to their more than 94 percent water content. These low-calorie snacks are great for humans and dogs alike, and they're very refreshing on a hot day.

Strawberries, too, are more than 90 percent water, plus they're rich in antioxidants and offer lots of fiber. Blueberries, too, are a refreshing treat, with about 85 percent water inside their tasty skins.

Plain Greek yogurt without any sweeteners is also a great way to serve those berries, just as Milo's mom did. You can either blend the berries into the yogurt, or create frozen treats just like Milo's. No doubt your dog will be licking their chops for more!
