WHO chief heads to Congo amid surging Ebola cases

GENEVA - The World Health Organization chief said on Thursday he was on his way to the Democratic Republic of Congo where an Ebola outbreak is outpacing the world's ability to respond.

"16 times, this country has defeated Ebola. The 17th will be no different. But we must act now, together," said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on X.
