Pokemon Go Fest will kick off new Forever Forward season
June kicks off a pivotal news season for “Pokémon Go,” one in which it celebrates several milestones for the mobile game. It marks the arrival of the in-person Pokémon Go Fest across three continents and a global one, the 10th anniversary of the title and an important Community Day.
The upcoming season, titled Forever Forward, runs through 10 a.m. June 2 to 10 a.m. Sept. 8. Pokémon Go Fest will highlight the monthslong span as it introduces Mega Mewtwo X and Y and Zeraora. Those will be sought-after Pokémon, and some of the most powerful in the game. That’s in addition to the hard-to-find shiny variants and regionals.
For the Pokémon Go Fest global event, which is free for everyone for the first time, several communities will be holding large events around the world on July 12, including San Francisco.
Further into the Forever Forward season, Scopely is debuting several new advanced Pokémon forms in battle such as Mega Raichu X and Y and Mega Skarmory. Dynamax Electabuzz, Dynamax Magikarp and Dynamax Feebas are also arriving, giving players new options in Gigantamax abnd Dynamax battles.
NEW TWEAKS AND GO PASS
Scopely is still aiming to tweak features, and it has added a Daily Discoveries bonus. The developers are adding a Double-Time Sundays, which seeks to take advantage of routes by offering more Pokemon spawns while doing the task with another boost coming from Incense. It also includes reduced distance for Buddy Candy and Mateo visits.
Mondays will lose the Fast-Track option, which affected the Go Pass, but it will maintain Max Mondays, which features quickly refreshing Power Spots. Unfortunately, showcases are still tied to Showcase Tuesday, but this time, players can enter up to five events.
The Go Pass for Forever Forward will be available. It includes a free and paid track. It includes the following bonuses:
- Tier 1 – an additional Candy and Candy XL for trading Pokémon
- Tier 2 – an increase to the limits on opening and receiving gifts
- Tier 3 – Double the Daily Adventure incense duration
- Tier 4 – An increase of Xp and Stardust from hatching eggs
The Research Breakthrough and Eggs are also changing for the season. They include some notable additions, including Klawf being added to the Research Breakthrough and Flittle being added to the 5km egg pool. When it comes to 10km eggs, shiny Frigibax is being added.
COMMUNITY DAY
Speaking of which, for the Community Days, trainers should mark their calendars for June 20, which will be the pseudo-legendary Frigibax. The other two dates will be July 4 and Aug. 15.
Those who evolve Frigibax to its final form of Baxcalibur will have the signature move Glaive Rush added to its Charge move set. It has 90 power in PvP battles, while in PvE situations it has 105 power.
The event bonuses include triple stardust, double catch candy with a higher chance for trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL.
For the August Community Day, players will have a chance to vote on which pocket monster they want. They have to choose from Nickit, Yamper, Fidough and Tadbulb. Scopely will host a poll on its official Pokémon Go YouTube channel on May 30 to May 31.
