Intuit and subsidiary Credit Karma to cut more than 600 Bay Area jobs

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Intuit and Credit Karma revealed plans to slash more than 600 jobs, affecting workers in both the South Bay and East Bay.

Described as permanent, Intuit will eliminate 493 jobs in Mountain View, and one of its subsidiaries, Credit Karma, will cut another 117 jobs in downtown Oakland, according to the state Employment Development Department.

The cuts are scheduled to take effect on July 31, the tech companies stated in a WARN letter to the state EDD.

“Bumping rights do not exist, and there are no unions representing the affected employees,” Intuit stated in the WARN letter.

News of the reductions arrived shortly after LinkedIn revealed it will eliminate 585 jobs in the Bay Area, affecting workers in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and San Francisco.

Separately, Meta Platforms and Cisco are planning to conduct wide-ranging layoffs in the near future.
