This Woman and Her Dog Had a Wild Visitor at Their Door, and the Result Is the Cutest Thing You'll See All Day
Rumor has it that a capybara can befriend any animal they meet, and this capybara, which showed up on the front doorstep of a Florida woman and her dog, seems to prove it!
"Stevie, did you invite a friend over?" the woman asks her Collie as she approaches the front door. The door itself is open with a screen that's closed, and behind the screen stands a very proud-looking capybara, indeed.

"There's a capybara at my door again," and the woman says, and while that would usually be a very strange occurrence, the folks at Dark Wings Wildlife are used to it.
The Central Florida organization runs "a small ambassador animal program in Florida dedicated to educating the public about misunderstood species," according to its YouTube channel. That's where it posted this video, and regularly posts many other awesome animal clips.

This capybara's name is Cheesecake, and after a bit of door-frame staring, Stevie and the woman let Cheesecake into the house. From there, the party was on.
Cheesecake wasted no time making herself at home. Cheesecake first tried to go into the woman's bedroom, where she was, sadly, not allowed on the bed. She was, however, allowed to get comfortable on the couch.
"Capybara's ability to befriend anything and anyone must be studied," one commenter says.
"What a polite house guest," another remarks.
"It's literally a giant guinea pig that's very chill," notes one more.

Are Capybaras Very Friendly?
Capybaras have a reputation for being "friends with everyone" online, which may be due to their highly social and gentle nature.
These creatures are actually laid-back as a rule. They naturally move in herds and live in strong communities, and they're just as happy forming packs with the other creatures around them as they are their capybara brothers and sisters.
Just because they are friendly, however, does not mean they aren't shy. If you were to approach a capybara you didn't know, they can be quite skittish and even defensive. It's best not to just run up to one if you see them in their natural habitat, in the tropical and temperate parts of South America-or at a wildlife refuge in Florida.
Still, if you meet one at a zoo or in a public setting of the sort, capybaras accustomed to human interaction are generally very outgoing. Next time you see a capybara, you might just leave with a new bestie.
